A Wonderful Event for Science Geeks: Skies Over Jacksonville
Planetarium technology has changed a lot over the past ten years, with programs becoming more sophisticated and immersive. And while the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium is proud to have the latest in digital audio-visual capabilities, we have not forgotten the fundamental purpose of a planetarium ; depicting a realistic night sky. We are therefore proud to offer the program "Skies Over Jacksonville," a detailed live star show. While all planetarium presentations at the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium include a brief tour of the heavens, "Skies Over Jacksonville" is dedicated totally to the wonders of backyard stargazing. Visitors will join our planetarium educator in a journey across the sky as bright stars, asterisms, constellations and other surprises are identified and discussed. The presentation environment is that of a forum, not a lecture, so guests are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the adventure! "Skies Over Jacksonville" is recommended for ages 4 and up. 2 p.m. Daily 40 Min.
It’s hard to leave home sometimes—trust us, we know. But Mount Carmel Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida believes it is important to not only stay active in your community, but to also express curiosity about new subjects. This event is the perfect chance to spread your roots and learn new things!
